ISSI's outsourced manufacturing model is based upon a history of joint technology development relationships with key Asian and domestic foundries. ISSI also make strategic equity purchases in selected foundries. ISSI have expanded ISSI's presence in the important Asian market by adding design groups in China, Korea and Taiwan, where ISSI now employ over 80 design, product, and test engineers. These design groups complement ISSI's core engineering and product management teams located at ISSI's San Jose, California headquarters.

In recent years, the need for sophisticated semiconductor memory has expanded beyond the personal computer market and into the automotive, communications, digital consumer, industrial and medical markets. Increased memory content is required in these products in order to help process large amounts of data.

• Develop Selected Non-Memory Products for Key Markets. In order to increase product diversification and to offer products that are synergistic with ISSI's SRAM, DRAM, and Flash expertise, ISSI are developing selected non-memory products for use in ISSI's key markets.
